This month, we focus on: How to take your startup global.

We've gathered a panel of experts who will be speaking about overseas expansion, what considerations need to be taken when going global, and common mistakes made.  Join us for a discussion on:

  • Strategies on how to expand overseas,
  • considerations for when startups go global,
  • common mistakes and pitfalls, and
  • real-life case studies of successful global expansions

Panellists

David Kenney, Partner, Hall Chadwick Working since 1986 in both medium sized and Big 4 Chartered Accounting firms, David is respected as one of Australia’s most reputable and capable strategic business advisors.  A regular presenter of business and taxation seminars, David is an integral part of both the Australasian accounting and start-up landscape.  He is regularly consulted on corporate transactions with accelerating over $100 Million in capital raising.  He has also recently been appointed the Start-Up Grind director for the Sydney, Australia chapter.

Lasya Rao, Senior Advisor, Austrade Lasya is a Senior Advisor for scaleup programs at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). Since 2019, she has helped deliver trade services to hundreds of tech startups and scaleups expanding into international markets through the Landing Pad program. More recently, she has provided 1:1 support to companies expanding amid the global pandemic. Prior to joining Austrade, Lasya has worked in the automotive, non-profit and tertiary education sectors.

Nick Roberts, Executive Co-Founder, Scalare Partners Nick is a successful entrepreneur, investor, and company director with expertise in building, scaling and selling global data, compliance and technology businesses. Formerly based in London and New York and living in Sydney since 2008, Nick has 30 years of international experience. He has founded successful businesses in the UK, USA and Asia, generating over AU$300m of returns for shareholders on exit.   As an executive co-founder of Scalare Partners, Nick is now focused on investing in and actively supporting a select number of early-stage technology businesses that have demonstrated outstanding leadership, game-changing solutions and genuine global potential.
